Once Upon a Design

Notable design details:

  • Enchanted weeping willows show their true nature, reflected in the shimmering waters of the pond.
  • A glass bottle frog with a secret sits on a lily pad, his true self visible just below the surface.
  • A young ugly duckling peers into the pond, dreaming about the day his curse will be broken and he will look like the other ducks. Little does he know, he’s not affected by a curse, puberty just hit swans much later.
  • Hidden under the soft waves, a clue to the next ink reflects amongst the weeds.

We chose this paper for our planner and notebook not only to provide a fine writing experience but also for functionality. We wanted our books to be lightweight, flexible and portable. For first time users of Tomoe River Paper, you will notice the paper is slightly transparent and as you write, plan, watercolor through your planner or notebook you will see your book expand with your words and illustrations. You will also get to experience, what many find endearing, that magic “crinkle”.
